Simon Lorenz wins German Photographer of the Year 2019

We are proud to announce that Insider Diver founder Simon Lorenz won the National competition of the World Shoot Out 2018.

The World Shoot Out is one of the biggest underwater photo competitions in the world. Thousands of photographers submit every year in various categories. For several countries national champions are selected and we are excited that Simon's black water photo of a Juvenile Wunderpus Octopus was selected amongst the photos of over 200 German photographers.

"I am so stoked to receive this award. The photo was taken on an improvised blackwater dive with Eduardo Acevedo in Raja Ampat on our Insider Divers expedition in February 2018. It was always a bucket list critter to find and on this dive we got lucky."

The image was shot with a Nikon D500 and 60mm in an Isotta housing with two INON Z330 strobes.
