ITINERARY

Join Insider Divers to Antarctica and step into one of the most remote and breathtaking places on Earth. Experience towering icebergs, vast glaciers, and incredible wildlife encounters, from whales and seals to penguins thriving in the wild. There’s simply no other place in the world that offers such a raw and unforgettable polar adventure.

DATES

29/01 to 10/02/2028

THE WHALES

Antarctica is home to some of the most extraordinary marine life on Earth. You may encounter several species of whales, including humpback, minke, and the largest animal to have ever lived—the blue whale. These giants migrate to Antarctic waters during the feeding season, drawn by the abundance of krill, creating incredible opportunities for close and frequent sightings.

Unlike tropical whale destinations, Antarctica offers a unique ecosystem where wildlife thrives in extreme conditions. Alongside whales, you’ll witness colonies of penguins, seals resting on ice floes, and seabirds soaring above dramatic glaciers. The interactions here feel raw and untouched, with animals often displaying natural curiosity in a pristine, icy wilderness found nowhere else on the planet.

THE ACTIVITIES

This is an expedition-style journey combining cruise exploration with land and water experiences. Each day typically includes up to two landings, where you’ll walk on snow and ice, encounter penguins, seals, and seabirds, and take in incredible polar landscapes.

Zodiac cruises bring you closer to icebergs and wildlife, including whales and leopard seals, offering intimate and dynamic encounters.

Optional snorkeling is available (conditions permitting). As part of the snorkel team, you’ll often have priority access—maximizing time both on land and in the water.

This is an active trip, involving zodiac transfers, walking on uneven terrain, and cold conditions, so a good level of mobility and fitness is recommended.

THE TRIP

You will be going out every day for up to 6 hours. Since we practice responsible whale swimming we will enter the water in small groups of three people per drop and avoid other operator boats as much as we can.  In the evenings your Insider Simon will host talks about whales and sperm whales to help educate yourself about the whale behaviors you see during the day.
