Truk Lagoon, in Chuuk, is world famous as the best wreck diving location in the world. Not only are there countless wrecks, they also are almost entirely in their original state, with most artfecacts and ammunition still in place.

Here you will be able to dive complete wrecks loaded with trucks, bulldozers, torpedos and even tanks. The wrecks are in such good conditions that we can dive into cargo holds, rooms, bridges and engine rooms.

We offer this trip land-based so we can split into small groups, each diving different wrecks - on a liveaboard everyone dives the same wreck. Our resort is located 5-30 mins from all major wrecks in the lagoon.

Diving Truk Lagoon with Simon from Insider Divers was one of my most memorable trips.

The wreck dives were expertly planned, the guides outstanding, and the whole experience ran smoothly. Blue Lagoon Resort was clean, comfortable, and felt very safe. Simon’s photography coaching and his mini WWII history sessions added real depth to every dive. I also met an amazing group of divers, many of whom I still dive with today.

Highly recommend Simon and Insider Divers for a well‑organized and unforgettable wreck‑diving adventure.

I recently completed a technical diving trip to Truk Lagoon with Phil Christoff and Insider Divers, and I can’t recommend them highly enough for serious wreck divers.

Every dive, often in the 40–60m range, was meticulously planned, with clear gas, deco, and contingency briefings. Safety was always front and center — from gas matching and bailout checks to reliable surface support and conservative adjustments for current and visibility. I have since also joined them for a rebreather trip to Bikini Atoll - also outstanding.

For anyone committed to technical wreck diving in Truk Lagoon, Phil and Insider Divers are an outstanding choice.

I’ve done 3 trips to Truk Lagoon and 1 to Bikini with Insider Divers, each was exceptional. The wrecks, warm clear water, and rich sea life make it a world‑class destination. Insider Divers consistently delivers smooth organisation — from booking and travel support to managing the group and diving on site.

My first trip was recreational with Simon, from shallow wrecks to deeper, more complex sites. On technical trips with Phil we explored deeper wrecks, add penetration, and extended bottom times. Phil’s leadership made the technical planning seamless, with clear deco reviews, objectives, and run‑time coordination that kept dives safe and comfortable.

Truk is truly unique, and I look forward to returning.

FAQ

  • Do I need to be a wreck diver?

That is a great question. You do not need to be a tech diver to be able to join. You should have good bouyancy and be comfortable in your own dive gear. We recommend at least 100 dives. Everything else we can coach you on-site.
Please contact us to chat about your experience so we can decide together if this trip is the right one for you.

  • I have a wreck certification but not much experience

That is not a problem. We are here to coach you at any level you might be at. However, you should have at least 10 dives with the equipment that you plan to use during this trip.

Feel free to reach out to us for a personal chat about your level and equipment.

  • Do I need a wreck certification?

You do not need a wreck certification. Advanced Open Water and nitrox certifications are required. We will team people with different certifications and experiences together in dive groups with different dive plans.

  • How do I get to Chuuk?

You can only fly Chuuk (TKK) through Guam or Hawaii (the island hopper).

We have chosen the trip days to match the current United Airways schedule.
