from
US$0

This full charter explores the offshore highlights of the Red Sea—Brothers Islands, Elphinstone, and Daedalus—renowned as the region’s shark hotspots.

Here you can expect encounters with reef sharks, oceanic white tips, hammerheads, and even thresher sharks. We’ll dive up to four times daily, from early morning through late afternoon, with night dives possible only when close to the mainland.

OUR PROMISE

To create the best possible experience for a destination Insider Divers always carefully select the optimal season and best operator. In the Red Sea the best time to see sharks is September to November. We have worked with Blue Horizon for almost 10 years and this award-winning vessel stands out in safety and organization.

You will be in the company of fellow ocean-lovers and accompanied by an Insider Divers group leader who handles logistics, making your trip effortless. We will enrich your experience with wildlife talks and provide professional photos as a memory of your trip.

Simon Lorenz

Simon is an award winning photographer, PADI instructor and TDI tech diver. He is the founder of Insider Divers and the main group leader on our trips. Having dived all over the world he often felt unsatisfied by the dive operations, by the background knowledge of the guides and by the inflexibility of the itineraries. This inspired him to create Insider Divers, where groups of fun international divers get the best possible itinerary.

Epic Trip to the Southern Red Sea, Egypt

I joined for my first live aboard - and its was epic! The trip was very well organized - the dive plans, the Cairo extension, all the way down to buddy pairing. Simon created a comfortable environment for you to ask questions, learn & become a better diver. Both coordinators and the boat dive master gave educational briefings - enhancing the experience of every dive. This trip included a lot of firsts for me- first zodiac entry, first negative entry, deep dive cert, and first up close encounter with large sharks - and all was done in a very professional, supportive way.

I would definitely recommend Insider Divers to a friend

Egypt trip of a lifetime!

I went with Insider Divers on a coordinated trip with Girls that Scuba for a week long live aboard in Southern Egypt, Red Sea. This was my fourth live aboard and definitely ranked high in comparison. The energy and set by the organisers lifted the whole group and built a great sense of community. The trip was planned and organised really well from start to finish. Safety regulations were clear and all diving was kept within limits, making the experience fun and professional, and, of course, safe. I would definitely recommend Insider Divers to a friend and I hope to join them on another trip soon.

Awesome trip to Egypt

My trip with Insider Divers to Egypt was excellent. Everything from communication, planning, accommodations, food, Cairo extension, dive sites, briefings, and presentations were simply perfect. For someone that is shy, I felt immediately welcomed and part of the diving family.

Simon even realized a safety issue in my diving skills, and with no hesitation offered me a review class. He was always available for any type of help we needed and his photography class was awesome! All the guides to include Simon, ensured that we were safe and that we got the most out of each dive. I can't wait for my next trip with Insider Divers

FAQ

  • What dive experience do I need for this trip?

This destination offers accessible diving conditions, yet it is not suitable for absolute beginners. To join, participants must have:

    • A minimum of 25 logged dives
    • Advanced Open Water (AOW)     certification or higher
    • Nitrox certification (mandatory on all Insider Divers     trips to ensure longer, safer dives)

This is a great trip for people doing their first time on a liveaboard as the water is usually calm and we rarely experience rough seas.

  • Will I get seasick?

This destination can be moderately challenging forthose prone to seasickness if there is swell, as we will be offshore for multiple days. Most of the time the water is calm, but there is no guarantee.

If you are sensitive to seasickness, we strongly recommend bringing medication for the duration of thrip. Tablets work well for most guests, while patches can beespecially effective for those who are more prone to seasickness.

  • Are the sharks dangerous?

Of all the species on this itinerary, only the Oceanic White Tip is considered potentially dangerous. Incidents have occurred, though usually due to divers not following proper behavior around the species.

As part of your Insider Divers expedition, you’ll receive detailed briefings on how to dive safely with sharks and how to conduct yourself in their presence. When diving diligently and respectfully, sharks pose no danger.

  • When is the best time to dive the Red Sea?

The Red Sea is divable year-round. The oceanic whitetip season at Elphinstone and Brothers peaks from September to November.

  • What marine life can I expect in the Red Sea?

Highlights include oceanic whitetip sharks at Elphinstone, schooling hammerheads and thresher sharks at Daedalus and Brothers, grey reef sharks, silky sharks, dolphins, tuna, turtles, and classic Red Sea wrecks such as the SS Thistlegorm depending on itinerary.

  • How do I get to the Red Sea?

Our Southern Red Sea itinerary boards in Hurghada. Fly into Hurghada (HRG). We strongly recommend arriving a night before embarkation.

Some itineraries use Egyptian tourist visas which are straightforward on arrival for many nationalities, but we recommend confirming requirements before travel.
